Emergent Risk International (ERI) is seeking to hire a full-time Intelligence Analyst & Manager for a Global Security Operations Center (GSOC) to be embedded on an annual contract with one of our multinational clients to be based in New York City.
In addition to serving as the GSOC team’s senior intelligence analyst, the GSOC Manager will oversee the performance and scheduling of up to six GSOC analysts, ensuring the GSOC is staffed on a 24/7/365 basis. The successful candidate will work onsite at our client’s office. This is not a remote position.

● Online Platform: We offer a subscription-based online portal that provides a workspace environment for security intelligence analysts, combining ERI’s expert analysis with hundreds of curated datasets and our suite of data visualization tools.
● Consulting: We help companies develop and improve their intelligence programs, providing end-to-end support; from assessing needs and providing analysis to recruiting and hiring highly qualified candidates.
● Embedded Analyst Services: We support our clients with embedded analysts, full- and part-time, short- and long-term. Our embedded analysts work directly for our clients, allowing them the benefit of employing intelligence professionals trained to ERI’s strict standards of competency and continually professionally developed by ERI’s senior leadership, armed with access to ERI’s proprietary tools and deep backbench of in-house subject matter experts.
The Position:
The GSOC Manager will be responsible for leading a GSOC team that, on a 24/7/365 basis, monitors for and alerts on security threats that may impact business continuity and/or the safety of a Financial Services industry client’s people, facilities or assets around the globe.
The GSOC Manager will serve as the team’s senior analyst and will supervise additional team members globally, overseeing the team’s overall performance and scheduling. The GSOC Manager will generally work a standard schedule Monday-Friday; however, s/he will be expected to occasionally work a flexible schedule when the need arises to cover shifts for other team members as needed to prevent any gaps in coverage, such as when another team member takes paid time off or requires scheduled use of sick leave.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop an expert understanding of the client’s business model and asset locations, ensuring that the GSOC’s reporting is tailored to the client’s specific needs.
- Ensure the GSOC’s threat severity and reporting matrix is regularly reviewed and refined so that it accurately guides the processes and alert reporting produced by the GSOC analyst team.
- Ensures operational excellence across team. Establishes and maintains processes, procedures, and SOPs, playbooks, training materials, business reviews, and other such documentation as needed for team operation and performance. Communicates processes and training metrics to the client supervisor.
- Owns the team’s staffing schedule, ensuring consistent, always on coverage. When necessary, adjust your work schedule to ensure always on coverage when other team members must take time away from work.
- Provides a customer-service oriented approach for the client and department, which may include availability to support incidents outside of normal working hours.
- Act as the team’s senior analyst. Participate in alert monitoring and reporting and serve as senior editor when needed, while providing consistent feedback to your team members.
- Coordinate with ERI’s embedded analyst support program to ensure all team members attend and receive professional training needed to enhance their skills and develop their careers.
- Ensures quality and accuracy of all reporting and communications being produced by the GSOC, to include grammatical and factual accuracy at all times.
- Establishes and maintains productive relationships with key stakeholders and customers globally, as directed by the department.
Minimum Qualifications:
- At least three to seven years' experience as an analyst in a GSOC or equivalent environment, whether having served in the private or public sector, with a demonstrated track record of steadily expanded responsibilities.
- Bachelor's degree in intelligence, international relations, business administration, journalism, supply chain security or related field.
- Excellent writing and editing skills, demonstrable ability to write concise reports suitable for a corporate executive audience.
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Excellent critical thinking skills that bolster both analytic work and suitability for serving in a lead client-facing role.
- Able to meet analytic deadlines and quick-thinking and responsiveness during crisis events.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive data and information.
- Willingness to work onsite at client office, as role requires regular team collaboration and access to sensitive corporate information.
- Superior research/OSINT skills.
- Ability to juggle multiple competing tasks and prioritize accordingly.
- A strong commitment to ethical private sector intelligence practices and ability to maintain confidentiality around security specific information.
- Must be able to work flexible schedule as required.
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening, if/as permitted by local law.
What Would Make Me Stand Out:
- Multi-year experience managing intelligence analysts preferred.
- Fundamental grasp of multinational business operations and experience in supply chain security and resilience.
- Data visualization experience.
Remuneration: This role will be a full-time (40 hours per week) salaried position. Pay is commensurate with experience. ERI also offers competitive insurance benefits and the opportunity to participate in our 401k plan.
