Practice Head - MENA Region

Position Overview:
We seek a Practice Head for the MENA region, a role critical to our leadership in global political risk analysis. The ideal candidate will have at least 10 years of political analysis experience, specializing in MENA geopolitics. They will be a dynamic leader responsible for delivering world-class analytical content, efficiently developing and managing a team of experts, deepening and supporting key commercial relationships, and a strategic partner to fellow EG analytical leaders.
Key Responsibilities:
Serve as a world-class analytical authority on MENA political risk, creating influential content that includes comprehensive regional reports, targeted client briefings, and engaging external presentations.
- An exceptional network in the region, the US, and other key policy communities.
- The ability to interpret world events for GCC-based clients and a granular understanding of the region.
- Expertise in regional political analysis or foreign policy or sectoral experience relevant to the region
- Initiative to collaborate with other regional, sectoral, and macro practices to create exceptional geopolitical knowledge to advance our Corporate Sectors' practices.
- Deep understanding of the geopolitics and fundamentals of global energy markets.
- The ability to foster and leverage commercial opportunities, relationships, and projects in tandem with our commercial and analytical teams.
- Represent EG’s analytical excellence externally through thought leadership (media, speaking, social media) to raise the practice's profile and effectiveness.
- Lead a team of analysts, providing mentorship, professional development, and continuous feedback to infuse a sense of urgency in achieving the above at a world class level.
- Report to the Head of Research and collaborate extensively with commercial leads and analytical peers across the organization.
Desired Skills and Experience:
- At least 10 years of relevant political analysis experience with a focus on MENA region.
- Mastery of Arabic language and deep regional knowledge.
- Demand for excellence in analysis, with an ability to make complex information accessible and actionable for non-expert audiences.
- High level of drive, enthusiasm, and a teamwork ethic.
- Ability to travel as necessary to meet operational requirements.
- Advanced degree in political science, international relations, or a related field, with a preference for a master’s level or above or experience in government providing the equivalent.
