Position Overview
At United, safety and security are at the heart of everything we do. And our Geopolitical Analysis and Intelligence team plays a critical role in sharing timely and relevant information about security events with key decision-makers and other employees across the company.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the preparation of timely and accurate geo-political security assessments to include identifying high-risk areas that might require additional caution or security measures to ensure the safety of our co-workers, customers, operational integrity, and assets.
- Assist in providing travel security monitoring and assistance to a global workforce.
- Assist in developing strategies to mitigate security risks as appropriate or required.
- Assist with the promotion of cross-function collaboration and support between Corporate Security, internal and external partners.

Qualifications
What’s needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):
- Applicant must be a current undergraduate student.
- Major in Political Science, International Affairs, Economics or related, preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Shown proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Ability to handle simultaneous projects and adapt to a fast-paced, changing environment
- Solid research skills
- Strong professional ethics and ability to maintain absolute discretion, confidentiality, and trust
- Familiarity with security information resources and data-mining techniques
- Knowledge and understanding of analysis on security issues, especially crime, civil unrest, political instability, and terrorism
Additional Information
- Position will be hybrid based in Chicago, IL
- Intern duration is 12 weeks over Summer 2025
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship now and in the future
- Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualifications
- Reliable, punctual attendance is a crucial function of the position
