Manager – Strategic Intelligence
Our client is seeking a sharp, resourceful, and intellectually curious professional to join their expanding Strategic Intelligence practice in New York. This is an opportunity for someone with at least three years of experience across law, finance, consulting, corporate strategy, intelligence, government, or a comparable field. Role is NYC based with a hybrid schedule.
About Our Client
Our client is a respected advisory firm whose Strategic Intelligence practice serves business leaders and investors navigating decisions with significant commercial and reputational stakes. Their work spans major transactions, regulatory and policy matters, and senior leadership assessments — engagements where an independent, rigorous perspective is essential.
Their client roster includes leading private equity firms, top-tier law firms, and major global corporations who rely on them for a clearer view of commercial risk, regulatory landscapes, and key individuals. Discretion and independence are hallmarks of how they work.
The Role
Based in New York, the Manager will lead client engagements with a primary focus on North America. The work is genuinely varied — on any given project, you might be evaluating the risk profile of a target company in a major transaction, analyzing the political dynamics shaping pending legislation, or developing a nuanced assessment of a senior executive.
A significant portion of this work is conducted through an established global network of contacts whose perspective and access underpin the quality of the firm's advice. Managers learn to leverage this network and, over time, play a role in building it.
Engagements span sectors, geographies, and subject areas — often ones with no prior context — and the ability to get up to speed quickly is essential. Findings are delivered in writing and through direct client communication with deal teams, legal counsel, and C-suite executives. Clear, precise, confident communication is expected at all levels.
What You'll Bring
Our client does not hire to a single template, and diversity of background and perspective strengthens the team. Strong candidates typically demonstrate:
- Solid commercial awareness and the ability to quickly parse a company's value chain, governance structure, and risk exposure — grounded in a strong understanding of U.S. politics, business, and current affairs
- An investigative instinct — naturally curious, persistent, and creative in sourcing what they need
- High emotional intelligence and sound judgment, with the ability to quickly understand what a client is actually concerned about and advise them with confidence
- A strong academic background and a genuine interest in writing and continuous learning
Beyond the work itself, our client is looking for someone who wants to help build something. This is a growing firm where the people who thrive contribute not just to client outcomes but to the shape of the organization itself.
Career Path & Development
Managers are central to the firm. They lead engagements and develop their advisory and client management capabilities, with a clear path toward Associate Director — a role carrying greater responsibility for high-stakes engagements and small team leadership.
Our client invests meaningfully in professional development through structured training, regular feedback, and a collaborative environment that draws on backgrounds spanning law, consulting, finance, government, and intelligence.
