The Role
Horizon Engage is seeking an Account Manager to own the day-to-day management of our client relationships, based in our London office. This is a client-facing role focused on retention, satisfaction and growth within our existing client base, working closely with our Sales Director and analyst teams to ensure clients get full value from Horizon Engage’s intelligence products.
You will be the main point of contact for a portfolio of clients once they are onboarded, responsible for their day-to-day experience, renewals and identifying opportunities to expand the relationship. You will work hand-in-hand with our sales function, handing off qualified growth opportunities and coordinating a seamless experience as clients move from prospect to long-term partner, and with our analyst teams to make sure client needs are reflected in the intelligence we deliver.
Key Responsibilities
- Client relationship management: Serve as the primary day-to-day point of contact for an assigned portfolio of clients, building strong, trusted relationships with key stakeholders across government affairs, compliance, legal, strategy and investment functions.
- Onboarding: Lead new clients through onboarding, ensuring a smooth handoff from the sales process and a clear understanding of Horizon Engage’s products, platform and points of contact.
- Retention and renewals: Own the renewal process for your portfolio, monitoring account health, addressing concerns proactively, and securing on-time renewals.
- Growth and upsell: Identify opportunities to expand existing accounts - additional countries, sectors or products - and work closely with the Sales Director to progress and close these opportunities.
- Cross-functional coordination: Liaise with analysts to ensure client feedback, priorities and emerging needs are reflected in ongoing coverage and deliverables, and that clients receive timely, relevant responses to their questions.
- Client reporting and reviews: Prepare and lead periodic account reviews and usage reports, demonstrating value delivered and surfacing opportunities for deeper engagement.
- CRM and account hygiene: Maintain accurate, up-to-date client records, renewal dates and account notes in the CRM, and provide clear visibility into account status and risk.
- Voice of the client: Represent client perspective internally, feeding insights on client needs and satisfaction back to leadership, analysts and the business development team.
Candidate Profile
- Experience: 3–5 years of experience in account management, client success or a similar client-facing role, ideally at a research, intelligence, consultancy or other B2B professional services firm.
- Relationship management: A proven ability to build trust with senior stakeholders and manage multiple client relationships simultaneously, with strong follow-through and attention to detail.
- Commercial mindset: Comfortable identifying and progressing growth opportunities within accounts, and collaborating closely with a sales function to convert them.
- Communication skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the professional presence to represent Horizon Engage confidently with senior client contacts.
- Sector interest: Interest in or exposure to geopolitics, political risk, government affairs or the energy sector is a strong plus.
- Collaboration: Comfortable working cross-functionally with sales and analyst teams, and coordinating across time zones with a globally distributed team.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g. international relations, business or a related discipline).
- Location: Based in London; this role is client-facing and will involve regular contact with clients and colleagues across time zones.
