This is a demanding position in which you will work with our analyst team to understand our clients' questions and then lead the process to discover the answers.
Ergo seeks an analyst of the very highest caliber to join its Flashpoints Forum team. The Flashpoints Forum is Ergo’s geopolitical and economic forecasting product, combining unique intelligence, frontline expertise, and innovative proprietary frameworks to generate predictions and analysis on the critical issues affecting markets, businesses, and nations.
Flashpoints Forum analysts have a unique opportunity to become deeply engaged in major global issues, work directly with the world’s most influential companies, and build a valuable skill set by undertaking a range of crucial responsibilities, including:
- Understanding the needs and priorities of the largest multinationals and investment firms
- Interpreting major global issues and events that impact Ergo’s clients, especially related implications of US government policy shifts
- Identifying and engaging with the world’s leading subject matter experts and recently former senior government officials
- Working within and developing Ergo’s proprietary scenario-generation methodology
- Tracking developments on major global issues using a range of data sources
- Monitoring and regularly reporting on complex political, economic, market, and security dynamics in dynamic countries and sectors
- Determining direct impact to clients of potential futures of major global issues
- Writing, analyzing, synthesizing, and presenting complex findings at very high standards
- Working closely with Ergo’s executive leadership team and senior advisors
Qualifications
This is an early- or mid-career position. Ideal candidates will have recently served in a position in the US government focused on trade policy, fiscal policy, monetary policy, industrial policy, and/or energy policy, and will have an undergraduate or graduate degree in economics or a related discipline. Previous work experience in policy, consulting, risk analysis, sell-side research, government, or international business is a requirement. Candidates are expected to demonstrate a genuine interest in economic issues, foreign affairs, and international business. Self-starters with demonstrated passion and drive are especially encouraged to apply. Candidates must have:
- Absolute integrity
- A positive attitude
- At least 3 years experience in related fields
- A strong academic record
- Superior communication and oral/written presentation skills
- A desire to work hard in a rewarding atmosphere
- A personal and work history that shows honesty, discipline, initiative, creativity and a very strong intellect
- A proven capacity to research, write, and present complex material
- The ability to work well with a team
- Solid facility with Microsoft Office (familiarity with Adobe Design Suite is a plus)
- A minimum GPA of 3.5 in college and/or grad school
