Role Overview:
Our client is a boutique country risk advisory firm seeking strong account management and business development professionals with a proven track record of selling geopolitical risk research, business intelligence, or related consulting services corporates, with a preference for candidates with exposure to the energy & natural resources sector. This role requires an expert in navigating complex business environments, with a requirement for previous experience selling and/or managing accounts for a research or advisory product to corporate clients with a consultative sales process. Open to various levels of experience from 5-15 years.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the identification, development, and execution of business development strategies for the company's suite of services, including country insights, security briefings and advisory services.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders across the North America market.
- Drive revenue growth by identifying new business opportunities, expanding existing client accounts, and positioning the firm as a leader in the field.
- Act as a trusted advisor to clients, understanding their unique needs and challenges, and providing tailored solutions to help them mitigate risks and navigate geopolitical complexities.
- Collaborate closely with internal teams across multiple geographies, to ensure that client needs are met with the highest standards of service and expertise.
Key Requirements:
- 5+ years of business development and/or account management experience, specifically within the fields of political risk, business intelligence, or consulting, with exposure to energy sector broadly.
- A deep understanding of political and economic dynamics globally, with a strong ability to translate this knowledge into actionable insights for clients.
- Proven experience selling or managing client relationships with complex, high-value consulting solutions and services, with a track record of achieving revenue targets and driving business growth.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills, with the ability to engage and influence at senior levels.
- Ability to travel frequently as needed, ideally based in either New York or Houston.
