The successful candidate will combine strong editorial and research leadership with client relationship management and business development responsibilities. This role requires extensive experience living and working in the Asia-Pacific region, and a deep understanding of the political, economic, and regulatory dynamics shaping the energy and natural resources sectors across the region. Open to candidates with 10–15+ years of relevant experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead editorial oversight of Asia-Pacific coverage, commissioning and editing analysis from a network of in-country contributors while maintaining quality control and client relevance across a variety of regular and ad-hoc products.
- Serve as a primary client relationship manager for the region, maintaining clear communications to ensure coverage remains relevant in a dynamic environment.
- Produce original, high-quality written analysis on regional political and economic trends and their intersection with the global resources industry.
- Grow and manage a network of subject matter experts with deep knowledge of key stakeholder landscapes in national energy sector leaderships across the region.
- Support new business development through capability demonstrations, preparation of briefing materials, and attendance at in-person and remote BD meetings.
- Represent the firm at external conferences to present analysis, engage clients, and build regional networks.
Key Requirements:
- 10+ years of experience in political risk, intelligence, government affairs, or journalism with a focus on Asia-Pacific; extensive experience living in the region is essential.
- Superb writing, editing, and presentation skills, with the ability to deliver high-quality work to tight deadlines.
- Strong understanding of upstream oil and gas, renewables, and/or mining and metals sectors is a significant advantage.
- Proven ability to build and leverage a high-value contacts network to support original intelligence gathering and analysis.
- A passion for stakeholder-level analysis — understanding the 'who's who' of commercial opportunity and risk in key markets.
- Strong collaborative instincts and comfort working remotely within a fast-paced, globally distributed team.
- Degree in International Relations, Politics, Economics, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
This is a compelling opportunity to take ownership of a growing regional practice at a well-established and founder-led strategic intelligence firm serving the senior leadership of some of the world's largest energy, renewables, and mining companies.
